What do we offer?
Our standard package includes:
- Creation of a website for your community following the design guidelines above but tailored to your requirements.
- Incorporation of your images, logo and initial content into the design.
- A step by step guide showing you how to add and edit content on your website.
- Free technical support.
Optional Extras:
- Online Media Presentation - Uploading music or sermons and a gallery of images.
- Online Shop - Completely integrated e-commerce, products, a shopping cart and checkout for whatever you are selling.
- Hosting - For us to offer you the best technical service we can host your website on our servers. Your current webspace may not meet the minimum requirements needed to run your new website. Hosting with us ensures that you'll continue to receive support and updates from us and the management will be much smoother.
- Domain Name Registration - We can register your community's name as the web address so your site's address could be "www.sheptonbowlsclub.co.uk"
- Email - If we are hosting your website then we can create several email accounts for you and your members. So you could have the email address "vicar@stmarysbacton.co.uk" for example.
Pricing
Websites can vary enormously in terms of content, design and complexity and so we've come up with three levels depending on the sort of facilities you need your website to have. We are very flexible and will work with you on putting together a custom package if you prefer.
Standard Package - £150 set-up plus £100 per year hosting.
That would get you set-up, ready to go with a new website, email, with everything taken care of.
With the standard package you can add as many pages and articles as you like. You could use it as a blog or scrap book, or to simply present good, clear information about who you are.
Enhanced Package - £300 set-up plus £100 per year hosting.
As with the Standard Package but with added facilities for an integrated calendar of events and media uploads. This is ideal for pubs or clubs that want to advertise their latest events. The media facility allows for the uploading of audio and images, so you can upload sermons or seminars, or create a gallery of images.
Professional Package - £500 set-up plus £200 per year hosting
This package includes an online shop, a place where you can advertise your products, take orders and process payments. We'll set up everything you need to add products to the catalogue, show you the different ways you can present them and talk you through setting up Google Checkout for the processing of credit cards - or set up another method of payment if you prefer. The hosting is more expensive because the costs involved in running an online shop are higher in terms of maintenance and server usage and it also allows for the evolution of the shop as your business changes and grows.
Domain Name - £20 per year
For us to register and maintain your domain name web address (e.g. "villagelifeonline.co.uk")
Why are we such good value for money?
Most of the costs involved in creating websites are found in the time spent on design and implementation. We have tools that allow us to generate good, clean, creative websites without having to reinvent the wheel every time. The look and feel of the site will be largely down to the images you can supply us with and what you want to add to the site in terms of content. We're also using an Open Source form of website management called "Drupal" - so this keeps the running costs low. Lastly, but probably more importantly, we feel that decent, good looking websites shouldn't be expensive. VillageLifeOnline came about through frustration with the websites of our village and church - they were poorly designed, unkempt and yet seemed very expensive to run. So we wish to offer you a service that's personal, uncomplicated, creative and above all good value.
Timing
Once you've provided us with all the information and files then your site should go live within a week. Then we recommend spending a week or two yourself adding content and testing it out before going "live". We can also then make changes and adjustments.
What Next?
Click on the Contact button at the top of the page and drop us a line. Give us an outline of what you need or if you have no idea then just ask us for help! We'll send you a sort of questionnaire check-list which will hopefully help you get your ideas together and map out your site. If you're in Norfolk or thereabouts then we'll come to where you are and talk it through. Once we've discussed the details you can decide if you want to proceed and we'll go from there.
